Mission statement: The mission of the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology is to conduct high-quality research and to offer outstanding learning opportunities focused on living organisms in their natural environments. To this end we: 1) educate undergraduate and graduate students in marine biology through intensive hands-on programs based in the field and laboratory, 2) investigate fundamental questions in biology using the rich diversity of marine organisms and habitats locally and worldwide, 3) facilitate research and offer access to marine habitats for scientists and students from the University of Oregon and beyond, and 4) enable access to the marine realm and- offer learning opportunities to all.
