Field station name: Hoft Farm
URL: https://www.nature.org/en-us/get-involved/how-to-help/places-we-protect/
Year founded: 1997
Mission statement: This tract was acquired largely because of the presence of a farm house, which was promptly expanded and renovated into the present-day Hoft Farm Field Station.
Part of the Alisio Estate tract is across the pond from the house and is crossed by a Land Bank trail operated under a trail agreement signed in 2003. The property features a mix of (mostly hilly) woodland, three fields, a small pond, a small shrub swamp, and TNC’s native plant nursery.
The Hoft Farm property is open to the public except for the 2 acre area enclosed by rock walls on which the field station house, cabins, resident parking and tractor barn is situated. Limited day visitor parking is available and a simple trail system links to both a more extensive network managed by the Land Bank and a pondside trail owned and managed by the Vineyard Open Land Foundation (VOLF).
Annual visitors: 100
