Mission statement: The Dalquest Desert Research Station (DDRS) is a living laboratory for the advancement of knowledge through ecological research, education and stewardship of this pristine region of the northern Chihuahuan Desert. Midwestern State University (MSU) manages it as a natural area and a year-round research station available to scientists and graduate students from MSU and elsewhere. The mission of the DDRS is to use field research to increase understanding of the Chihuahuan Desert ecosystem and to foster ecosystem stewardship through training, education, and outreach.
